Doritos unveils new Flamin’ Hot flavor with twist of lime

If you love spicy snacks, 2020 is looking like it might just be your year.

We are only a few weeks into the new year and already a handful of brand new tongue-torching snacks have shown up on store shelves, including a nice new twist on Flamin’ Hot Doritos.

Available nationwide right now, Doritos Flamin’ Hot Limón adds a tangy twist to the Flamin’ Hot experience, with the addition of zesty lime. I was able to try them for myself and, while it’s subtle, the lime flavoring is definitely apparent. And, yes, they are just as hot as the original Flamin’ Hot Doritos!

Frito-Lay

This is far from Doritos first spicy chip, as the company has been pumping out snacks with a bit of a kick for a while now. Flamin’ Hot Nacho chips were introduced last January and are still around, while Screamin’ Sriracha flavor Doritos just came out in October before being discontinued after a limited-time run. However, you can still get Doritos Blaze chips, which are, as the name implies, pretty spicy.

If you prefer your spicy snacks in the form of potato chips or popcorn, Frito-Lay has you covered there, too. Not only can you now get Flamin’ Hot Lay’s Kettle Cooked Chips, but you’ll also find Lay’s cheddar jalapeño chips on store shelves now.

If you like a side of cheese with your spice, you’ll also find new ready-to-eat popcorn from Cheetos in original and Flamin’ Hot varieties! The new popcorn is coated in the beloved cheesy dust known officially as “Cheetle” and marks the first time it’s ever been sprinkled on popcorn.

The Cheetos Popcorn will sell for a suggested retail price of $3.99 for a 7-ounce bag of cheddar-flavored and $3.99 for a 6.5-ounce bag of Flamin’ Hot flavor. Meanwhile, 2-ounce bags of the snacks will sell for $1.89.

If spicy food isn’t your thing, Doritos has also revamped its Cool Ranch chips by adding even more flavor. Both the new Flamin’ Hot and Cool Ranch Doritos are available in 9.75 oz. bags for a suggested retail price of $4.29 and 2.75 oz. bags for a suggested retail price of $1.89.

Kiss that New Year’s resolution goodbye!
