There’s a new contender vying for the title of “World’s Best Job.” While there have been a flurry of dream job postings, like an island bookseller in the Maldives or a cat caretaker in Greece, this latest position has real potential, and it’s currently taking applications.
The Latin American resort company Vidanta is searching for a brand ambassador. The main job responsibilities include spending time at the company’s luxury beach resorts in Mexico. The ideal candidate has experience in sales or hospitality, is willing to relocate to Mexico and has a “genuine love for travel and new experiences.”
While staying at the resorts, the brand ambassador will act as “Vidanta’s on-location social influencer.” That means experiencing everything the resorts have to offer and gathering content to share with potential guests.
Endless Perks
In return for a year of hard work at the beach, the brand ambassador will earn a salary of $120,000. Additional compensation includes dining credits, travel expenses and resort accommodations.
“Considering all of Vidanta’s impressive resort amenities including gourmet dining, high-end spas, designer golf courses and our exclusive entertainment partnerships with Cirque du Soleil and Hakkasan Group, it’s an understatement when we say that the ‘perks’ of this position are endless,” Iván Chávez, executive vice president of Vidanta said in a press release announcing the gig.
Vidanta boasts properties in seven destinations across Mexico, including Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos and Riviera Maya. Sure to be a highlight is the largest property, Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta. This massive resort spans 2,500 acres with a whopping five different resort hotel brands, more than 40 restaurants, two spas and much more. It’s also hosting a wellness retreat, led by Deepak Chopra, this November.
Offsite Excursions
This job is not just about the stunning resorts. In fact, the brand ambassador will have opportunities to venture beyond the company’s resort grounds. They can experience and share the best of the surrounding areas, too.
“In addition, the lucky applicant will fully immerse themselves in each of our resort destinations; from uncovering ancient Mayan ruins, hidden eateries and underwater cenotes to discovering the hottest new restaurants and nightclubs while attending the biggest shows and entertainment offerings in the area, this is truly the opportunity of a lifetime,” Chávez said.
Fine Print
If you want to say “adios” to your cubicle and “hola” to a year at the beach, you can apply online until Oct. 21. All you need is a resume to get in the running, but you can improve your chances with an optional 60-second video.
