Dumpster fire ornaments are the perfect way to commemorate 2020
As New Year’s Eve draws closer, we are eagerly anticipating the moment when we can turn the page on 2020 and greet 2021. Let’s face it: 2020 was a dumpster fire of a year. The COVID-19 pandemic, California wildfires and one of the most contentious elections in American history are just a few of the challenges that 2020 threw in our path.
And while it may be tempting to try to block out any memory of this insane year, there are some creative folks who decided to humorously commemorate it with dumpster fire imagery.
You’ll find a variety of dumpster fire Christmas ornaments on Etsy, each with the year emblazoned on it. This one from Etsy store RexRoi 3D Manufacturing is produced in a 3D printer and comes in seven different colors (including blue, pink, silver and more). You can purchase the ornament with or without a flickering LED light. The ornaments start at $21.95 (without the light).
The maker of the ornament, Los Angeles business owner Amir Fakharian, told USA Today that he and his wife thought an ornament representing this terrible year could “make people laugh about the year they had.”
Due to high demand, you likely won’t get the ornament before Christmas Day, but it would still be great to add it to your yearly collection, so you can look back and chuckle at the burning hot insanity of this year.
The Craftburys Etsy store also has a collection of 2020 dumpster fire ornaments to liven up your Christmas tree. At $13.60 each, these handmade painted ornaments measure 4 inches by 3 inches and are available in five colors.
Etsy sellers aren’t the only ones getting in on memorializing the hot mess that has been 2020. Amazon has a few similar ornaments, including this one with the image of the dumpster fire nestled inside a circle. Available for $17.95, the cheeky ornament is double-sided and measures 3 inches in diameter.
Walmart is also getting a last laugh on 2020 with some dumpster fire ornaments, including these wooden dumpster fire ornaments, which feature bright pink dumpsters with roaring fires inside.
You can choose from a package of two ornaments for $7.27 or three ornaments for $7.67. These are available for delivery only.
Another style available from Walmart is this 2020 ornament with the dumpster fire image — plus a dialogue bubble that reads, “I’m fine, everything’s fine.” Currently on sale for $10.32, you may be able to receive this one by Christmas Eve if you shop now.
In a year filled with discord and division, there is one thing we all can probably agree on: 2020 will forever be remembered as a hot, messy dumpster fire of a year.
