Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is no stranger to good deeds. When he’s not feeding his girlfriend dinner while she breastfeeds, he’s honoring the family members that helped him become the successful entertainer and family man he is today.

To thank his cousin and personal stuntman, Tanoai Reed, for all of his hard work and dedication to their family, Johnson gifted Reed with a custom pickup truck. Reed had no idea he was going to receive a gift, he simply thought they were filming a “behind the scenes” video. But his famous cousin had something else planned entirely.

And the gesture brought Reed to tears.

Thankfully, the sweet moment was caught on video and posted to The Rock’s Instagram account:

Johnson had everything meticulously planned out, right down to the cue that revealed the big surprise, because he felt it was the least he could do for such a devoted family member:

“I had this custom pick up truck delivered just in time to surprise him (he’s still recovering from a stunt injury) while we give what he thought was going to be an interview about our careers together,” Johnson wrote on Instagram. “As you’ll see the moment I put my hands on my hips, that’s the drivers [sic] cue to pull away and reveal the big surprise.”

This isn’t the first time Johnson’s overwhelmed a family member with his generosity, either. He also gave his father, ex-wrestler Rocky Johnson, a Ford Explorer as a Christmas gift in 2016:

“Over the years, I’ve moved him into a big home, got him trucks to drive – which he’ll literally drive into the ground until I get him something else. Hell, I’ll get him anything he wants, but the SOB just won’t ask,” Johnson wrote on Instagram. “Just a small way of saying thank you dad and Merry Christmas.”

Clearly, Johnson takes his family life very seriously and takes great pride in his role in the family, especially when it comes to being a father.

He explained in a touching Instagram post dedicated to his youngest daughter why the role of “dad” brings him such honor:

“And to my third and youngest daughter, Tiana Gia — like I did when your two older sisters Simone Alexandra and Jasmine Lia were born, you have my word, I’ll love, protect, guide and make ya laugh for the rest of my life. Your crazy dad has many responsibilities and wears many hats in this big ol’ world, but being your dad will always be the one I’m most proud to wear,” he wrote.

Gift giver, actor, wrestler, family man, dad — The Rock has done it all! It’s cool when you find out that the stars you see on screen are good people behind the scenes.
