Each and every holiday you share with your children is meaningful, of course. But there’s nothing quite like your baby’s first Christmas—so you’ll want to do something a little extra special to celebrate. There are tons of holiday DIYs out there, but this first Christmas ornament is super simple to DIY and will turn into a keepsake you’ll cherish forever.

Country Living first pointed out these adorable Christmas ornaments that can be made in just a few minutes. The idea has been done by several bloggers in the past, and each one puts their own unique twist on the project, so you can feel free to do the same!

All you’ll need to make the most precious Christmas ornament is a clear ornament and some of your baby’s mementos to fill it with. In these examples, moms chose to fill the ornament with the beanie their baby wore in the hospital as well as the wrist band that was put on their children shortly after birth.

YouTuber Maybelline Armistead created a tutorial to show you how it’s done:

This is so simple and yields a very special finished product! Using a chopstick or pencil is the key to get the positioning just right, so make sure you’ve got one of those items handy when you begin this super easy DIY.

The blogger behind Thrifty Crafty Girl, Priscilla Coker, even added a tiny bracelet with her daughter’s name on it for an even more personalized touch. She also admitted to doing this for her other children, too, even though they were four and eight years old at the time, which just goes to show that it’s never too late to create a cute Christmas ornament for the kiddos!

There are plenty more tutorials for baby’s first Christmas-inspired DIYs where this came from, too. So, if you’re in the crafting mood—get excited. One Pinterest search will reveal some of the most amazing photo shoot ideas and more.

For instance, there’s this cute photo shoot showing that a baby doesn’t need mistletoe to get kisses to inspire your Christmas card this year. You can find similar onesies on Etsy.

And there are also plenty of other ways you can incorporate your baby on the family tree, too.

This tutorial from Alpha Mom shows you how to create a handprint ornament for the tree. It’s a very simple process that can be done in your kitchen!

Make baby’s first Christmas one to remember by decking the halls with any of these festive personalized touches!
