This easy peach dumplings recipe uses Crescent rolls

PIllsbury

It may be August already, but there’s still time to squeeze in some fun summer dishes. One of the signature tastes of the season is the sweet peach, and this peach dumpling recipe is oh so easy that you’ll be making it on repeat for the rest of the summer.

Pillsbury’s peach Crescent dumplings are a quick bake because you don’t have to make the dough. Crescent rolls fill in perfectly for a from-scratch dumpling’s flaky crust. You only need seven ingredients to make these tasty treats, and many of them we’re sure you already have on hand in the kitchen.

Peach Crescent Dumplings

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (8 ounces) Pillsbury refrigerated Crescent rolls
  • 16 frozen peach slices, thawed (from a 10-ounce bag)
  • 6 tablespoons of butter
  • 1/3 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Vanilla ice cream (optional)

Once you have all the ingredients (and we don’t think the ice cream is optional, by the way), you are ready to create the dumplings. You’ll just need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees and coat an 8-inch square (or 2-quart) dish with baking spray.

The full recipe calls for mixing together some of the cinnamon and both sugars, along with some of the butter, to create the crumble. Use a pastry blender or fork to cut the butter into the sugar-cinnamon mixture until it looks like crumbs.

Then, you’ll crack open the Crescent rolls, place peaches on each triangle, sprinkle with sugar and roll up the peach slices. Add the leftover sugar mixture into the dish around the dumplings, then melt the leftover butter and brush it on top of the rolls. Dust the dish in more of the cinnamon-sugar blend and place it in the oven.

The hardest part of this recipe will be waiting the 10 minutes for them to cool down before you can dive in! The final touch is adding a scoop (or more) of vanilla ice cream to make the perfect summer dessert.
