Make this easy red wine shake with just 3 ingredients

What’s better than ice cream? Boozy ice cream, of course!

That’s why we are loving this recipe for red wine chocolate shakes from Rhubarbarians. With just three simple ingredients, you can create a cocktail that is worthy of Valentine’s Day dinner or Galentine’s happy hour.

You will need a blender, a full-bodied red wine, chocolate ice cream, chocolate syrup and anything else you might want as a topping, such as whipped cream, maraschino cherries, crushed nuts or sprinkles.

Definitely take a look at the full recipe to make sure you get the proportions right and read Trish’s tips before you get started.

Not a red wine lover? You can use white wine in a shake as well. Burger chain Red Robin brought a white wine milkshake to their cocktail menu back in 2014, and this cocktail recipe is easy to emulate at home. Made with sweet white wine, vodka, mango puree and vanilla soft-serve ice cream, this is a cocktail that is perfect as an after-dinner drink. This moscato milkshake recipe from theFFeed is similar to the Red Robin classic, but they use frozen raspberries in place of mango.

That’s the beauty of these boozy milkshakes — you can mix and match the ingredients to suit your own personal preference. For example, add your favorite frozen fruit to your milkshake, like a handful of frozen strawberries into your red wine-and-chocolate milkshake, or frozen white grapes in your white-wine-and-vanilla milkshake. Drizzle strawberry sauce on top of your shake in place of chocolate syrup, or reach for the white chocolate sauce.

And so long as you’re crafting cocktails at home, you might as well make the toppers at home, too. You can make your own whipped cream with this easy recipe, or try to create infused whipped cream flavors like this rose petal-infused whipped cream from Food52. How perfect would that be for Valentine’s Day?

Or if you would rather eat your wine with a spoon, try this recipe for dessert wine ice cream from 4 Sons R Us. Like the shakes, all you need is a food processor or a blender to make this homemade, adults-only sweet vanilla ice cream.

Cheers to that!
