Margaritas and watermelon are both summer staples, and when you put them together, you get one delicious cocktail that you’ll want to sip on all season long. This recipe for easy watermelon margaritas from the blog Erin Lives Whole also has no added sugar.

They can be served either on the rocks or frozen. Erin, the blog’s author, recommends using a white tequila such as Espolon or Casamigos. When you go to choose your watermelon, make sure you’re picky.

“The watermelon acts as the only sweetener here, so the redder you can get it, the better!” she wrote. When you’re all done, you’ll have a drink that looks like it was made for the hottest summer day.

If you go for the frozen version, which is pictured above, you’ll want to cut up the watermelon and freeze it for at least six hours, or until it’s completely frozen. It will make your cocktail that much thicker than if you use room-temperature watermelon.

Aside from tequila and watermelon, the other ingredients include triple sec, lime juice, ice and salt to garnish the rim of your glass.

The whole recipe comes together in just 10 minutes and makes about three to four drinks. These yummy margaritas would be perfect to serve at a barbecue or pool party. If you’re looking for some tasty apps to pair with this fresh cocktail, Erin recommends her recipes for eggplant caviar dip, Buffalo chicken dip or Thai peanut hummus. Sounds like a great happy hour spread!
