These Baby Carriers Sold At Target Are Being Recalled

Adobe

If you’ve recently purchased a baby carrier from Target, you may be entitled to a refund. The 2017 Eddie Bauer fabric infant carriers sold exclusively at Target between December 2017 and August 2018 are being recalled due to faulty buckles.

According to the recall statement, Gold Inc., which produced the carrier, is voluntarily issuing the recall, as there have been eight reported cases of broken buckles. The faulty buckles pose a falling hazard for children, though no injuries have been reported.

Anyone who’s purchased this baby carrier should stop using it immediately.

How To Know If Your Baby Carrier Has Been Recalled

You’ll know if you’ve got a recalled carrier if the front reads “Eddie Bauer” and “First Adventure” and looks like this:

Gold Inc.

You’ll also want to look for a model number EB00201 on the carrier, according to Good Housekeeping.

You can also call Gold Inc. at 866-600-7205 Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mountain time, email customerservice@goldbuginc.com or visit www.goldbuginc.com to verify whether you have a faulty carrier.

Gold Inc. estimates that 22,000 units were sold. It would have cost about $70 at Target.

How To Get Your Refund For A Recalled Carrier

Here are the steps you should take if you own the recalled baby carrier.

First, cut off and return both straps and the tag of the product. Gold Inc. is offering a prepaid shipping label via USPS. You can get the prepaid label via their website.

You’ll also need to supply your name, address and phone number in the package so that you can receive replacement products, free of charge, or a full refund.

There are two options for replacement products, and both are adorable.

The first option includes these adorable hedgehog car seat products and more:

And the second option has a cute zebra in the mix:

You can choose to receive either option or be issued a full refund from the company.

And if you’ve all of a sudden found yourself in the market for a new baby carrier, you may be interested in this one from Ergo Baby, which was rated the best among parents. It’s available from $104.94 to $159.99 on Amazon.

Correction: An earlier version of this article misstated that Gold Inc. is the parent company of Eddie Bauer. Gold Inc. produced the carriers as part of a licensing agreement with Eddie Bauer.
