Ellen Page just announced her marriage to Emma Portner
It feels like it was just yesterday that actress Ellen Page stole our hearts on-screen in 2007’s quirky “Juno,” with the pregnant teen she played telling her father: “I need to know that it’s possible that two people can stay happy together forever.”
Well, a decade later, it seems that the Canadian actress finally found her answer: On Thursday, Page revealed on Instagram that she had married her partner, New York dance teacher Emma Portner.
Page uploaded a series of pictures to celebrate the occasion, including a shot of her and Portner’s hands wearing wedding bands, along with the caption, “Can’t believe I get to call this extraordinary woman my wife.” (I’m not crying, you’re crying.)

Portner shared a similar message of her own, writing, “I get to call this incredible woman MY WIFE! @ellenpage I LOVE YOU!”
Neither Page nor Portner shared details on when or where the pair tied the knot, so it seems like the newlyweds are keeping a few details about their nuptials to themselves for now.
Portner, 23, and Page, 30, first started dating last year, according to Global News. They shared pictures on social media of their holiday celebrations and began popping up in each other’s social media profiles in the spring. Page had only just come out publicly in 2014, when she spoke to participants at an LGBTQ event, Time to THRIVE. “I’m here today because I am gay,” Page said, according to E! News. She continued:
“I am young, yes, but what I have learned is that love, the beauty of it, the joy of it and yes, even the pain of it, is the most incredible gift to give and to receive as a human being. And we deserve to experience love fully, equally, without shame and without compromise.”
Cheers to that, and congratulations to the happy couple!
