Elton John Says Prince Harry Is ‘Ecstatically Happy’ With Meghan Markle

Another sweet story has emerged about Prince Harry’s romance with his bride-to-be Meghan Markle. During an appearance on the British TV show “Lorraine,” music legend Elton John opened up about his relationship with the British royal family. John, who recently announced a farewell retirement tour, shared that he spent time with the prince in the summer of 2016 and could tell that Harry was in love.

“And I thought, ‘Good for you,'” John said in the interview. “Both those boys seem to be ecstatically happy and that’s all you want people to be, no matter who they are. When people get married, you want it to last, you want them to be happy. I’m happy for him, I hope they have a wonderful day.”

He went on to explain that his concern for Prince Harry and Prince William stems from his friendship with their late mother, Princess Diana. “Both of those boys are very special to me because of their mother,” he said.

John acknowledged that he and Princess Diana had a falling out, as friends sometimes do, but added that they were able to reconcile shortly before her sudden death in 1997. He also said that he sees some of his dear friend in her son.

“[Diana] was just loved by people because she had that great ability, which her son Prince Harry has inherited, where she could walk into a room of people and make them feel at ease as if she’d known them all her life or all their life,” he said. “And that’s an incredible talent to have.”

When asked if he would be in attendance at Harry’s much-anticipated upcoming nuptials in May 2018, John said he wasn’t sure if he’d be invited — apparently no one has gotten their invitations yet. But the pop star did say that would be “nice” to be there on their big day. We feel the same, actually!
