In March, Target will be releasing a very special line of Super Hero Action Figures. What’s special about them? They’re all women!
The Senior VP of merchandising, Scott Nygaard, said on Target’s website, “Target prides itself on keeping a pulse on pop culture and we have a legacy of getting behind the hottest franchises to bring our guests exclusive merchandise.”
Inspired by DC Comics‘ female super heroines, the line will be sold exclusively at Target and the collection will include action figures, action dolls and apparel (let’s hope they come in adult sizes too). The characters will include Supergirl, Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Poison Ivy, Bumble Bee and others.
What’s also neat about this collection is there will be 6-inch action figures and 12-inch action dolls that portray athletic and strong bodies. Another step in the right direction for confident, positive body imagery.
Nygaard continues, “We are thrilled to be working with some of the industry’s leading partners to introduce a new generation to these inspirational characters, and know fans of all ages will embrace these beloved and iconic heroines as they build new memories.”
