Recently, we got a glimpse of the “Beverly Hills, 90210” cast reunited on Instagram. Now, FOX has now released a teaser for the series reboot that, like the Instagram posts that Gabrielle Carteris and Jennie Garth posted, shows the cast gathered around a table with scripts for the new show that’s reportedly titled “BH 90210.”

In fact, the 30-second video actually shows Carteris taking the selfie that she later posted on Instagram, making the clip feel like less like a promo for the series and more like a behind-the-scenes video. Take a look for yourself:

The teaser reveals that the premiere date for the new series is Wednesday, August 7, but it doesn’t reveal much more, aside from the cast — Ian Ziering, Jennie Garth, Shannen Doherty, Jason Priestley, Gabrielle Carteris, Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green — sitting around a table reading scripts, chatting, laughing and hugging each other. However, this may be intentional, as the new series will reportedly be a mockumentary-style drama with the actors playing their real live selves as well as their fictional characters from the original show.

“It’s about the characters behind the characters,” Jennie Garth explained to EW. “It’s inside the lives of people that lived in those shoes for those 10 years, and it’s about them coming back together.”

Word is that the actors will basically be playing “heightened”  versions of themselves as they try to get a reboot of the 1990-2000 Fox series from producer Aaron Spelling off the ground. The official logline for the Fox TV series reads like this:

“Having gone their separate ways since the original series ended 19 years ago, Jason, Jennie, Ian, Gabrielle, Brian and Tori reunite when one of them suggests it’s time to get a ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ reboot up and running. But getting it going may make for an even more delicious soap than the reboot itself. What will happen when first loves, old romances, friends and frenemies come back together, as this iconic cast — whom the whole world watched grow up together — attempts to continue from where they left off?”

The cast also glammed up for a photo shoot that Jennie Garth gave us a glimpse of on her Instagram account:

They look great, don’t they? You’ll notice, of course, that Luke Perry, who played Dylan and died in March of a stroke, is missing from the picture, but we’re sure he’ll be a presence…somehow.

’80s kids, your childhood is calling. Are you excited for the new series?
