Flamin’ Hot Nacho Doritos Are Your Spicy New Snack Option

If you like a little heat, there’s a new snack coming your way. Frito-Lay has taken their popular Flamin’ Hot Cheetos flavor and mixed it with everyone’s favorite chip, Doritos. The new snack food mashup Dorito Flamin’ Hot Nacho chips are now in stores as of Jan. 10.

Dorito Nachos are already a bit spicy, so the addition of Flamin’ Hot spice to these chips is bound to up the kick factor. They’re being sold at grocery and convenience stores nationwide in 3.1-ounce ounce bags for $1.89 and 9.75-ounce bags for $4.29.

“Doritos Flamin’ Hot Nacho is a new, unique flavor that gives fans the essence of the original Doritos Nacho Cheese with a flamin’ hot kick we know snackers love,” Leslie Vesper, senior director of marketing at Frito-Lay North America, said in a statement. “We’re excited to bring together two of our most popular flavors just in time to spice up the snack aisle for the new year.”

That sounds like a match made in heaven if you ask me! Of course, this is not the first time the beloved Flamin’ Hot flavor has been married with another food product. There’s been Flamin’ Hot Fritos and Flamin’ Hot Funyuns, and fans have even it taken it upon themselves to incorporate the flavor into their favorite recipes.

For instance, put some Flamin’ Hot Cheetos in a food processor, and use the crumbs to cover a whole turkey for a crunchy, spicy and anything-but-boring twist on your Thanksgiving bird.

A bar in Irvine, California also used the snack to take their Bloody Mary to the next level. (The Cheetos get soggy, but who cares?) In 2017, a bagel shop in New Jersey added Flamin’ Hot Cheetos bagels to their menu. They even offered a side of Cool Ranch cream cheese as a schmear to perfectly complement this spicy bagel.
