Former NASA Engineer Creates The World’s Largest NERF Gun

If you thought your watering hole gossip sessions were intense, just wait until you find out how this former NASA engineer spends his time at work.

While, he’s normally the one getting pelted with NERF darts, something tells me he won’t have to worry about that anymore. Engineer/YouTuber Mark Rober has created the world’s largest NERF gun.

And I’m talking big. Want an indication of the size? The darts are made out of pool noodles and plungers… so… yeah. Pretty big.

The reasoning behind the creation? “People have these NERF dart wars at work sometimes, and in an effort to keep people from picking on me, I decided to create the world’s largest functional NERF gun,” Rober explains in the video.

Of course, the creation was all in good fun, I’m sure. So, enough talk already, let’s see what this baby can do, shall we?

Is that some launching power or what? This dart gun may not be easy to lug around, but it can definitely out-shoot its competitor. It shoots darts out at 40 mph, in fact. And I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I’d like to be on receiving end of that.

If you’re feeling a little extra-inspired by science after seeing that, check out the Eclectical Engineering YouTube channel where Rober’s buddies teach you more about how to make a giant NERF gun.

Hey, so what if your gun’s much bigger than your opponent’s. All’s fair in love and NERF war, right?
