‘Fraggle Rock’ Is Returning To Television

Get ready to relive the '80s. "Fraggle Rock" is coming to HBO.

HBO seems to always give you a reason not to cancel your subscription. Who cares if you could save a bit of money when you could be watching the best TV shows around instead, you know?

The ‘80s and ‘90s have been trending in a major way. And now, that’s trickled into your entertainment, too. According to Entertainment Weekly, “Fraggle Rock” is headed back to your television screen.

The show originally aired in 1983 and ran for 96 episodes over the course of five seasons. But now, it’ll be coming back in an all-new way: HD. Yep, because it is 2016, after all!

“In remastering the series, illuminate has created a contemporary look for the series with meticulous attention paid to every detail — sharpening the images, cleaning up the contrast, increasing the vibrancy of the colors and re-formatting for wide-screen — all under the careful supervision of Brian Henson,” Richard Goldsmith, EVP of Global Distribution for The Jim Henson Company said in a statement, according to Entertainment Weekly. “We’ll engage a whole new audience who will love meeting the Fraggles, Gorgs, and Doozers.”

“Fraggle Rock” features puppet creatures similar to “The Muppet Show”—unsurprisingly, as both were the brainchild of puppet master Jim Henson. Watching HBO with your kids is about to become quality time, people. New episodes won’t be headed to TV, but all 96 *remastered* episodes will be up and running once again, according to TIME.

The show follows three sets of families. The Fraggles, Gorgs and Doozers all live in the place known as Fraggle Rock. It’s their neighborly adventures that run the series.

And how could we share the news of Fraggle Rock’s return to TV without bringing the show’s catchy theme song back into your head? We’ll definitely be humming this all day.

Exactly when can you expect these episodes to appear on HBO? Entertainment Weekly says they’ll be hitting screens in late 2016. Not much longer to wait now!
