Spice Up Your Next Zoom Game Night With These 10 Free Digital Escape Rooms

These look like fun!

Whether you’re teaching students virtually, hosting a Zoom get-together, or just looking for more ways to engage and entertain your child at home, a digital escape room can be an enjoyable and educational addition to your day.

Virtual escape rooms typically have a fun theme. To “escape” the room, participants solve clues to open digital locks. The clues usually pertain to the topic of the room, but sometimes they’re presented as math problems, word puzzles or other tests of general knowledge.

We’ve rounded up a collection of 10 free digital escape rooms in an array of themes, with something for everyone.

1. Minecraft Escape Room

Watch out for the creepers! This Minecraft Escape Room, created by the Regency Park Branch Library in New Port Richey, Florida, incorporates math problems, videos and more for fans of the building, mining and mob-fighting game.

3. Ultra Mega Super Death Escape Room

Are you ready to take on this formidable challenge? Recommended for teams of up to four people, ages 13 and up, this escape room has many rules, such as no Googling or calculators (although paper and pencil are fine). To solve the clues, use math concepts and world geography.

4. Spy Apprentice Digital Escape Room Adventure

This spy-themed mission takes you around the world (virtually, of course) solving clues. Presented by the Washington-Centerville Public Library in Centerville, Ohio, this escape room is challenging for groups or individuals. Since it’s rather tricky to solve, it’s ideal for teens and adults.
