Try This Genius Trick For Watering Plants

Adobe

We’ve all accidentally killed a plant at one point or another, and a common cause for this plant death is overwatering. Luckily, there’s an easy solution, and it happens to be sitting in your freezer. Instead of feeding your plants with a good ‘ole watering can, you might want to consider using some ice cubes instead.

Because ice melts slowly, this gives plants the time to absorb the water without filling them too much, according to Jillian at I Am A Homemaker. This tactic works especially well for plants like orchids that need to be well drained without water pooling at the bottom. Using ice cubes, you won’t have a mess of flooded water coming out of your pot.

Plus, walking around with a bowl of ice is much easier than having to tend to all your plants with a heavy watering can. Don’t believe us? Try it yourself!
