Just as Cinderella taught us, sometimes the dream that you wish does come true. And such was the case for a George Clooney super fan, who really wanted the actor to visit her for her birthday.

Pat Adams is a resident of Britain’s Sunrise of Sonning Retirement and Assisted Living Facility. She is a major Clooney fan (can you blame her?) and her birthday wish for her 87th birthday was to get to meet her favorite star. She brought up the topic everyday, and everyone knew about her great respect and admiration for the A-lister and philanthropist.

Although the Sunrise of Sonning staff put out feelers to Clooney’s people, they had no expectation that he would actually come through, especially as his team never replied to their requests.

So imagine everyone’s surprise when Clooney simply showed up for Pat Adams’ big day (!), along with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a hand-written note. Adams was over the moon with her incredible birthday surprise, as was everyone else at Sunrise of Sonning Retirement Facility.

Clooney is married to British barrister, Amal, and the couple primarily reside in Sonning-on-Thames, Berkshire which is near the retirement home. The pair are expecting twins, and these will be the first children for Clooney, 55, and Amal, 39.

Lifelong bachelor Clooney made headlines across the globe when he tied the knot with Amal in Venice, Italy in 2014. The couple are notoriously private, but they are both dedicated human-rights activists , and it is no surprise that Clooney would take time out of his hectic schedule to brighten someone else’s day.

The joy on Adams’ face simply says it all. She says it’s a day that she won’t ever forget, and we don’t blame her! It’s so wonderful when stars use their power to make the world a happier, warmer place. Kudos to Clooney for continuing to be a classy, giving celebrity that shows other stars how it’s done!
