Mark your calendars: You can get free pancakes at any IHOP on March 12 for National Pancake Day!

Between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. (10 p.m. at some locations), you can order up a short stack of buttermilk pancakes at the restaurant chain. A short stack would normally cost you $5, but on March 12, it’s on the house.

In return, IHOP asks that those partaking in the free pancakes consider making a donation of any kind to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Shriners Hospitals for Children.

IHOP is calling it a way to “Flip it Forward for Kids.”

In addition to the chance for some free pancakes, if you buy an order of “OREO® Oh My Goodness!” pancakes between now and April 14, $1 for every order goes to the Free Pancake Day charities.

This special pancake recipe includes four buttermilk pancakes with Oreo cookie pieces inside and cupcake icing, whipped cream and more Oreo pieces on top. It was the winning IHOP Kid Chef recipe submitted by Brody Simoncini, one of the many kids who have been treated at a Children’s Miracle Network hospital.

Two other kid chefs, Nellie and Coleman, were spotlighted for their pancake recipe submissions of PaNellie Unicorn Pancakes and Hawaiian Luau Pancakes.

IHOP has raised more than $30 million for children’s charities since starting this annual fundraising tradition. That’s some delectable news!
