Gingerbread Hot Chocolate is the ultimate holiday drink

If you just can’t get your fill of gingerbread during the holidays — you’re going to want to incorporate it into as many recipes as possible this season. So in that spirit, check out this recipe for gingerbread-flavored hot cocoa, which can, of course, be topped with a gingerbread cookie for garnish.

This recipe from Cravings of a Lunatic will show you how to transform basic cocoa into one that’s full of cinnamon, spice and everything nice — just like a gingerbread!

You’re in for a truly decadent mug of cocoa when you follow this recipe, too. Because instead of simply mixing cocoa powder and milk, as most cocoa recipes might suggest, this version calls for chocolate milk as a base for your cocoa powder, ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and other ingredients. You’ll also get an added bit of richness and cookie flavor when you melt down a bit of Biscoff spread to add to the mix. Yum!

Top with whipped cream, mini marshmallows and gingerbread men and you’ll end up with a mug full of deliciousness:

Of course, you can have some additional fun with the toppings. For example, maybe you prefer giant marshmallows and a layer of cookie crumbles. There’s really no going wrong here!
