Go-GURT’s new Dunkers snack will remind you of the ’90s
I can’t explain it, but I swear food is always better when you’re dipping and dunking it. French fries? Yup. Chips and dip? Of course. Cookies in milk? Totally. And don’t even get me started on the no-longer-available Dunkaroos from the ’90s.
Thankfully, Walmart stepped in to try to fill the Dunkaroo void last year. And now Yoplait’s Go-GURT has created its own version, too. Called Dunkers, the new treat features three different flavors of yogurt and either crunchy honey or chocolate dipping grahams. You’ll find the new Dunkers in stores nationwide for around $3.99 for a four-pack in flavors strawberry, vanilla and cotton candy.
No, it’s not cookies and frosting, but even my Dunkaroo-loving heart will admit yogurt and graham crackers are a much better choice as far as health is concerned. I was also able to sample them and they’re actually pretty delicious. The vanilla comes with chocolate grahams and was more dessert-like than I expected.
While it’s not quite the same as dunking your food, you can also get Mix-Ins from Yoplait. These two-compartment yogurt containers let you combine yogurt and crunchy bits of foods like chocolate and graham crackers to create different flavors. For example, there’s a s’more flavor version and one with cookie pieces if you like cookies ‘n cream.
Obviously, you can also create your own “dunkers” by taking your favorite flavor of yogurt and scooping it up with some graham crackers. Of course, that’s not as convenient as having an on-the-go pack and would be a bit harder to pack for lunch. Still, it would give you more variety if you’re not a fan of of the current available Dunkers varieties. Yoplait offers tons of flavors and even Greek yogurt if you’re looking for a protein boost.
If on-the-go snacks that remind you of ’90s food are your thing, you’ll be happy to know Lunchables also have a new treat, this time for a different meal of the day — brunch! Each Brunchables package includes flatbread, Kraft cheddar cheese and either Oscar Mayer bacon, ham or breakfast sausage. Instead of candy or cookies for dessert, you get a blueberry muffin.
Which flavor of Go-GURT Dunkers will you be trying first?
