‘Golden Girls’ star Rue McClanahan’s former home is on the market
Fans of the “Golden Girls” (aka, everyone) will be excited to know that Rue McClanahan’s former home recently hit the real estate market. Located in Encino, California, the property sits on 2.61 acres and is what the listing calls a “traditional-style residence.”
The late McClanahan, who played the outspoken and sassy Blanche Devereaux on the hit sitcom, was the property’s owner from 1988 to 1995. In 1995, she sold the home to the current owners, and now, it’s available for purchase once again. It’ll cost you a cool $5.5 million to buy this piece of “Golden Girls” history.
Before you get too excited about the inside of the home—know that it underwent a redesign by Nick Berman. So, you won’t find a “Golden Girls” set lookalike, but that doesn’t mean it’s not beautiful.
The amenities this property has to offer are practically endless. Not only are the grounds gorgeous, but the house also comes equipped with a music room, theater and gym.
But you’re probably not too surprised about that—only the best would do for Blanche, after all!
McClanahan isn’t the only draw for the celebrity-obsessed home buyer, either. According to the property listing, the home was originally designed by famous Playboy Mansion architect Arthur Kelly. So, how’s that for an interesting piece of trivia?
If you’re up to date on your “Golden Girls” knowledge, then you already know that the Rue LaRue “Golden Girls”-themed cafe opened up in New York this year.
