A ‘Golden Girls’ Themed Cafe Is Coming!
If you’ve ever taken someone out for coffee, you know, just to say “thank you for being a friend,” well, there’s going to be an even better place for you to go to enjoy that cup of joe.
A “Golden Girls”-themed café is opening in NYC, and whether you’re a local or not, if you’re a true “Golden Girls” fan, you’re going to want to pay a visit. Who could have possibly dreamt up something so wonderful (and why didn’t you think of it sooner?!)?
Well, you have none other than longtime friend of Rue McClanahan (who played Blanche) to thank for this glorious new hangout spot. Her friend Michael LaRue will name the café Rue LaRue, which is absolutely adorable.
Lucky for you, this is no joke! If the name wasn’t enough to draw you inside, the furniture definitely will be. All of the furniture was once McClanahan’s. According to the Washington Blade, many of her belongings were left to LaRue, and he had quite a lot of items to choose from. Thirteen closets-full, to be exact.
Hello Giggles reports that the café will open in September, so plan your trip to NYC accordingly. The publication also states that Betty White has agreed to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony. So, finally, you’ll be able to relive the “Golden Girls” glory days.
Now, all you’ll need is a slice of cheesecake to really make everything complete.
Just to get you even more in the mood to pay Rue LaRue a visit:
