Never seen “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”? The movie is family fun for all ages! On Halloween night, Linus (the “Peanut” who’s always carrying around his security blanket) is awaiting the arrival of the “Great Pumpkin,” which is due to show up in the town’s pumpkin patch.

The Great Pumpkin is a fabled holiday character, like Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny, so not everyone believes it’s real. Along with Charlie Brown’s little sister, Sally, Linus attempts to prove that the Great Pumpkin does, in fact, exist.

Here’s a clip of the intro, as posted by YouTube user Mike Allard:

Even if you think you know the holiday classic inside and out, there are likely a few things that will surprise you. For example, did you know the voice of Snoopy is performed by the film’s director, Bill Melendez? He continued to voice the cartoon pup for 40 years. You learn something new every day!

Whether you’re just experiencing the film’s magic for the first time, or you’ve loved it for decades, make sure you enjoy “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” at least once this Halloween season!
