‘Grey’s Anatomy’ fan-favorite character returns this spring

ABC

Now in its 14th season, ABC’s beloved medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy” is still going strong. While the cast has changed considerably over the years, with some characters being killed off and others moving on in other ways, many fan favorites are gone but certainly not forgotten

If you were a fan of Dr. Teddy Altman, portrayed by actress Kim Raver—who was on the show for three years, starting in season six—we have some good news: Raver is returning to reprise her role this spring!

Already at one point this season, Teddy appeared for a string of three episodes in which she supported her friend and former flame, Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) when his sister, Megan (Abigail Spencer), who had long since disappeared and was presumed dead, suddenly returned. Although nothing happened between the former lovers, mutual flirtation hinted that their romance may not be over.

While it’s unclear if Teddy will be here to stay, Raver, 48, has indicated in the past that she would be happy to return to “Grey’s Anatomy” in a more permanent capacity. In November 2017, Raver told TVLine that she would “100 percent” be interested in returning to the series.

“I love being a part of this company. I love working with [creator and executive producer] Shonda Rhimes. I love working with the cast. Literally for me it’s definitely a home. I feel fortunate enough to be able to go off and join other companies, but every time I come back to ‘Grey’s,’ it’s really like being home,” Raver said.

Teddy’s return to the show isn’t the only thing keeping fans interested in this long-running show. The latest rumor is that one of the show’s original characters, Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) may be killed off. A preview for an upcoming episode showed the character suffering an apparent heart attack.

Woah! To learn Bailey’s fate, you’ll have to tune in on Feb. 1, when the episode airs.
