When you hear the phrase “jello shots,” it probably conjures up images of college parties, messy red fingers and cheap liquor. But jello shots aren’t just for young people who want to get rowdy on the weekends. There’s a way to make fun and tasty jello shots that — believe it or not — are actually quite classy.
So if you’re looking for a way to add something light fun and light to a party, these grown-up jello shots might be just the thing you’re looking for. They’re the perfect combination of playful and delicious. And, of course, they’ll get a buzz going for your all family, friends and guests!
Here are three champagne jello shot recipes that we love and think your “grown-up” guests will as well.
Sparkling Champagne Jello Shots
Oh-so-fun and easy to make, these festive champagne jello shots are perfect for New Year’s Eve!
To make these, you’ll need:
- 10 oz. of champagne or sparkling wine
- 3 envelopes of plain gelatin
- 1 TBSP of sugar
- Silver or sparkly sprinkles
Combine the sugar and champagne in a small saucepan over medium heat. Slowly sprinkle in the packets of gelatin, making sure to continually stir the ingredients together.
Once the gelatin has completely dissolved, place the gelatin mixture in a shallow dish or pan to refrigerate. In about one hour, your champagne jello treats will be ready to cut!
Using a cookie cutter, cut your jello shots and then place them on parchment paper. Pour a generous amount of sprinkles in a shallow bowl and dip each jello shot in the sprinkles to coat. Place them on a serving tray and enjoy responsibly!

Strawberry Champagne Jello Shots
Thanks to the blogger behind A Beautiful Day, we’ve got the ideal recipe for you: Strawberry Champagne Jello Shots. These little alcoholic desserts are perfect for the holiday season, and unlike most jello shots, they actually look quite appetizing.
Forget about the Jell-O that’s made from artificially dyed box mixes and gets placed in small Dixie cups. These jello shots are made actually from scratch — and the best part? They have real strawberries in the middle, which takes them to the next level and makes them look quite beautiful.
And let’s not forget that they’re made from champagne! You can’t get much classier than that. Plus, since champagne is a bit less potent than the traditional vodka, you don’t have to worry about your guests getting crazy after eating too many of these babies.
All you’ll need to make these unique jello shots is water, gelatin powder, sugar, champagne, ginger ale, strawberries and a mold. If you feel up for it, you can even get creative and try out different fruits in the shot. That way, you can have an assortment of different fruit-infused shots on hand.
Champagne Jello Shots With Sprinkles
Delish has a champagne jello shot recipe that really ups the festive factor. In addition to champagne, sugar and gelatin, their recipe includes vodka and — our absolute favorite touch — sprinkles on top. Here’s their video from YouTube:
These boozy jello bites can be served as soon as your guests arrive, or if you prefer to wait, they also make lovely desserts.
We can’t promise you you’ll want to stop at just one, but you’ll definitely want to try out this grown-up spin on a college classic.
