Halloween is almost here and while Netflix is loaded with horror films and TV shows that are meant to terrify adults, there are also some spooky, fun titles that are made just for kids.

If your little ones are looking for something to watch this month that will get them into the Halloween spirit without keeping them up all night, check out these movies and shows that were streaming on Netflix as of Oct. 5, 2018.

‘Hotel Transylvania: The Series’

This episodic version of the hit movie series takes place a few years before the first “Hotel Transylvania” and focuses on young Mavis, who is Dracula’s daughter. The show is perfect for young kids, whether they enjoy the films or not. It is set inside the Hotel Transylvania, which sees plenty of fun monsters stopping by for visits.

‘Marvel’s Hulk: Where Monsters Dwell’

If your kids love the Marvel movies or just superheroes in general, they’ll enjoy this animated adventure that follows the Hulk and Doctor Strange. The story is set on Halloween night and sees the two heroes along with monsters, including a werewolf and a vampire. Pixar’s sweet movie that celebrates Mexican culture and the Day of the Dead holiday is a perfect watch for the whole family this Halloween. ‘The Hollow’

Common Sense Media described this thrilling new animated show as “‘Lost’ for tweens,” which sounds pretty awesome to us. The series isn’t strictly Halloween-themed but has a spooky, mysterious vibe as it follows three kids who wake up in a strange room and don’t remember how they got there. This one is probably best for kids ages 10 and older. The show’s 10-episode first season just hit Netflix this summer.

‘Spooky Buddies’

If your little one loves dogs, this is a perfect Halloween watch for them. This Halloween-themed entry into the “Air Bud” franchise sees the buddies, a talking group of golden retriever pups, try to solve a mystery inside a haunted house. This one is rated G so it should be good for little kids.

‘Ghost Patrol’

This 47-minute animated film originally aired on Disney Channel in 2015, so it’s aimed at younger kids who want some spooky fun. “Ghost Patrol” follows a pair of young siblings who hunt for ghosts along with their faithful pup. This is a good choice for kids who might not have the attention span for a feature-length movie but still want to follow a Halloween adventure.

‘A Series Of Unfortunate Events’

This Netflix original series, based on the imaginative children’s books, already has two seasons streaming for your kid to enjoy. The atmosphere of the story, which follows a trio of young siblings who are given to an evil relative after their parents die, is dark and whimsical, like something out of a Tim Burton movie. This series is probably best for tweens because of the grim subject matter.

‘Monster High’ Film Series

There are currently 14 movies from the “Monster High” animated series streaming on Netflix. These films, based on the popular line of toys, follow teenage monsters through a range of stories. These movies feature teen characters but are aimed at kids ages 8 and older.
