Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were ‘exhausted’ in beautiful wedding photos

There is no denying that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding day was picture perfect. But as anyone who has ever walked down the aisle can tell you, the day you get married is also long and tiring. They may be royals, but the newlyweds are only human, and it turns out they, too, reached a point of exhaustion during all the celebration.

Following the reception after the ceremony, the bride and groom posed for photos with photographer Alexi Lubomirski. The resulting images are beautiful, but according to Lubomirski, the two were feeling a little wiped out when they were taken.

A Few Moments To Capture A Lifetime Memory

They had just a few minutes to capture the shots before they continued on in their marathon day. Lubomirski described the moment when he took a final, and gorgeous, shot.

“I said finally, ‘OK, let’s go back. You can go back to your thing now, but listen, just before you go in, let’s sit down on these stairs,'” the photographer explained to reporters. “And she just slumped in between his legs, and there was this moment where they were just laughing because they were joking about how they were exhausted and finally it’s all over. And they just looked at each other and they were just laughing, and it was this just beautiful moment. … It wasn’t actually until I got back to the hotel that I looked at it, and it was just amazing — a very happy moment.”

Joy Shines Through Exhaustion

Sometimes those candid, real moments make for the best pictures! The photo was so perfect that it ended up being one of the couple’s official wedding portraits. Their joy certainly shines through, and you’d never know that they were feeling a little low on energy at the moment.

And it’s no wonder the newlyweds were so worn down. Their momentous day was filled with incredible moments!

The Moment Meghan Walked Down The Aisle

After first entering the church on her own, the bride met her soon-to-be father-in-law Prince Charles, who escorted her the rest of the way down the aisle to her beaming groom.

Prince Harry was captivated by his bride and couldn’t wait to tell her what he thought of how she looked — he approved, of course!

The First Royal Kiss

It was the photo opportunity everyone couldn’t wait for: the first married Royal Couple kiss. And, the crowds didn’t have to wait long once the newly married couple exited the church.

The Celebratory Carriage Ride

Immediately following the church service, the Royal Couple took a horse-drawn carriage ride around Windsor so the adoring crowds could offer their congratulations. It’s hard to catch your breath and relax when tens of thousands of people are screaming and waving at you!

Yet, the pair looked so relaxed and happy, you couldn’t tell that they may have been feeling a bit overwhelmed and tired.

The carriage ride whisked them back to Windsor Castle where the Queen hosted a wedding luncheon for the newlyweds and all the church guests. And since it was a stand-up luncheon, that mean a lot of mingling for the couple.

Congratulations to the happy (and photogenic) couple! Here’s hoping that they’re getting some much-needed rest now that their big day is behind them.
