Kate Greenaway-award-winning British artist, Jim Kay, has teamed up with J.K. Rowling to illustrate her infamous Harry Potter books.
J.K. Rowling told Bloomsbury, “Seeing Jim Kay’s illustrations moved me profoundly…I love his interpretation of Harry Potter’s world, and I feel honoured and grateful that he has lent his talent to it.”
This October, the second illustrated book of a seven-part series will be released, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. You can pre-order it here.
In October of 2015, Kay released the first illustrated book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
When asked by The Guardian if he has a favorite character, he responded,
“This is like trying to choose your favourite record, it changes all the time. I have a soft spot for Neville, particularly because of his awkwardness, but you have to admire Hermione, because she puts the hours in at the library, she’s the cement really that holds it all together, well, it would be a different story without her.”
