About one-tenth of the world is left-handed and according to archaeological evidence, that’s been true for 500,000 years. Whoa.

So how come left-handers are still around? In this fascinating Ted video, Daniel M. Abrams explains how a mathematical model suggests that the reason is something to do with the “balance between competitive and cooperative pressure in human evolution”.
