In 2017, HGTV fans were saddened to learn that Christina and Tarek El Moussa, the married co-stars of the network’s hit show “Flip Or Flop,” were headed for divorce. Now, a few months after their divorce was finalized, Christina is speaking out about the painful experience and how she and her ex are moving forward in their co-parenting and professional relationship.

“I felt like I was drowning,” Christina recently told People magazine of her life in the wake of the couple’s split. “I was doing whatever I could to stay above water and just get through the day.”

Although it was difficult to go on after their marriage fell apart, she told the magazine that both she and Tarek have emerged stronger and are now able to effectively work together to care for their two children, 7-year-old daughter Taylor and 2-year-old son Brayden.

“I thought of this year like a rebuild,” she told People. “So I’m starting from scratch. I’m moving, I have a new TV show, a new boyfriend — there’s a lot of projects going on. I’m just so happy, and for the first time in a long time, I feel at peace, which is such a good feeling.”

The new show is called “Christina On The Coast,” and will follow her as she transforms homes in Southern California. It’s set to premiere on HGTV in early 2019. As for Tarek, he’s also reportedly in talks for his own solo spin-off show on the network.

After their split, the former couple made the decision to keep working together professionally, and eventually resumed filming of “Flip or Flop” together.

“I’m glad we made the decision to continue the show,” Christina told The Hollywood Reporter. “It was best for everyone. We’re presenting a unified front. We’ve got kids.”

We’re wishing these two all the best in their future endeavors as they embark on this next chapter in their lives!
