HGTV is looking for a U.S. town that needs a total makeover for a new show
If your hometown is rich in history, tradition and community but could use some freshening up, HGTV might want to hear from you. Ben and Erin Napier of the hit series “Home Town” have a new series, which might just be the biggest undertaking for HGTV yet.
The Napiers are home renovation experts who have a heart for small-town living and a passion for restoring historic dwellings. On their show, Ben and Erin help families bring out the beauty and charm in their homes.
“I think the trend toward finding a simpler life is happening in small towns everywhere,” Erin said in a press release. “We want these families to feel like they are truly at home and to feel it in their heart when they walk in the door.”
In their latest endeavor, Ben and Erin are upping the ante and renovating entire small towns. They will be traveling throughout the United States for their upcoming series “Home Town Takeover,” helping residents revitalize their communities.
To find the most update-worthy small towns, HGTV is reaching out to viewers. Anyone whose hometown meets the requirements can enter a submission to be considered for the show.
How To Submit Your Town For A ‘Home Town Takeover’
In order to be considered for the show, a small town must meet the following requirements.
- The township must have a population of fewer than 40,000 residents.
- The town should contain buildings with outstanding architecture that would benefit from revitalization.
- The location ought to include a Main Street area that is in desperate need of a makeover.
If your hometown meets these criteria, you can submit photos and videos on the official submission page. HGTV recommends entering images that display areas of your town that need renovating and an explanation of why you love it.
Consider recording a tour of the town with interviews of community members who make it a wonderful place to live.
