We’ve all seen the celebrity bikini photos from the tabloids while standing in line at the grocery store. Yeah, you know the ones.

Well, Hilary Duff is on vacation with her son, and is beating the paparazzi and gossip media to the punch.

The 29-year-old actress and singer posted a photo of herself in a bikini on Instagram on Aug. 5, and the message she’s spreading couldn’t be more positive to mothers and women of all shapes and sizes.

In the picture, she’s carrying her 5-year-old son, Luca, out to the ocean, while wearing a one-piece bathing suit.

She captioned the candid snap, “I am posting this on behalf of young girls, women, and mothers of all ages. I’m enjoying a vacation with my son after a long season of shooting and being away from him for weeks at a time over those months. Since websites and magazines love to share ‘celeb flaws’—well I have them!”

She went on to say:

“My body has given me the greatest gift of my life: Luca, 5 years ago. I’m turning 30 in September and my body is healthy and gets me where I need to go. Ladies, lets be proud of what we’ve got and stop wasting precious time in the day wishing we were different, better, and unflawed. You guys (you know who you are!) already know how to ruin a good time, and now you are body shamers as well.”

And if that wasn’t enough of a statement, she ended with a hashtag “kiss my a**.”

So take that, body shamers!

Here’s Luca, clearly enjoying himself on vacation. Duff shared this shot of him the same day as her other post with the caption: “It’s good to be this guy.”

Women and mothers alike sounded off in the comments section of Duff’s body-positive post applauding her for loving her body, as all women, all people—for that matter—should.

“My all time favourite [sic] superstar!!! Thank you for being an absolute idol to women every single day! Loved you since Disney Channel, and will continue to love you. Thank you for being real,” one commenter wrote.

Others shared their own personal stories of learning to own their bodies.

“Thank you for posting this. I’m raising a 16 year old daughter in the midst of this ‘got to be perfect world!’ I’m 54 years old and very proud of my body and threw away my scale at 23 when an old boyfriend told me my body was not perfect at 5’10” weighing 115 lbs,” another mother wrote.

You go, ladies!

This isn’t the first time Duff’s been real about the process of learning to accept her body.

“I have the same troubles as every woman; I’m constantly in that 10-pound struggle,” she told Today Style back in 2016. “But it’s not something I obsess over. Sometimes it’s more realistic for me to be in shape than it is other times. I love to work out, and I love to feel strong, but I also really enjoy eating, and I love nights out with friends.”

She’s looking to find a balance and see her flaws as something that makes her beautiful, which is something many women can relate to.

“Putting so much pressure on ourselves to be 100 pounds is just a waste of energy,” Duff told Today Style. “There’s such a focus on things we think are our flaws instead of what makes us beautiful.”

Speaking of beautiful, Duff shared a shot of herself on Instagram July 4 with a caption noting that she didn’t wear makeup at all that day and that it “felt so good.”

Accepting our bodies is a journey, but Duff definitely seems to be squarely on the body positive path, and that’s truly inspiring.
