Halloween is almost here, and Hollywood’s spookiest sisters are coming back — really. After years of rumors and finally, a confirmation in 2019 that “Hocus Pocus 2” was in development at Disney, Bette Midler has revealed she and the other Sanderson Sisters (Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy) are joining forces again in the movie.

Back in March, a source told Variety that Disney hoped the original trio would sign on for the project, rather than rebooting the film with a new cast. Well, it seems their dream has come true. In an interview with Fox 5 New York’s “Good Day New York,” Midler said “all of us said yes” to the sequel to the cult-classic 1993 comedy.

“They want to make a movie, they’ve asked us if we were interested and of course all of us said yes,” said Midler, who revealed in 2018 that she had watched the original movie for the first time in 20 years. “I’m game, I’m totally game.”

It turns out that Midler and her co-stars have already reunited, donning their old “Hocus Pocus” costumes again to promote a special live, one-night-only virtual event, “In Search Of The Sanderson Sisters.”

The virtual “Hocus Pocus” reunion and event is in place of Midler’s “Hulaween” celebration, which isn’t happening this year due to COVID-19. The good news is, you can watch it from anywhere in the world, provided you tune in at 8 p.m. ET on Oct. 30.

The event will be hosted by Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, and also features a huge number of special guests, including Glenn Close, Billy Crystal, Jamie Lee Curtis, John Debney, Samantha Diaz, Todrick Hall, Jennifer Hudson, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, Michael Kors, Adam Lambert, George Lopez, Alex Moffat, Vinessa Shaw, Martin Short, Sarah Silverman, John Stamos and Meryl Streep.

“It was so bizarre to have been these characters 27 years ago,” said Midler of the reunion. “And to put all that gear on… it was so bizarre because we fell into exactly the same relationship we had and the same style of behaving on screen that we had 27 years ago. As if we had been off for a weekend!”
