Hoda Kotb has welcomed another daughter. The “Today” co-anchor announced she adopted a little girl named Hope Catherine Kotb.
Kotb shared the announcement during a phone call into her show on April 16. Co-anchor Savannah Guthrie teased the news of an “exclusive” story on air before getting on the call.
“It’s a girl!” Kotb announced to her colleagues, who all clapped and celebrated in response. You check out footage of the full phone call with Kotb (as well as the surprised reactions of all of her co-anchors!) in this video below from Today’s YouTube channel:
The “Today” show also shared a photo of Kotb with her new baby and her older daughter, two-year-old Haley Joy, on social media.

Kotb, 54, hinted at her expanded family on her official Instagram account earlier on April 15, sharing a photo that read: “Choose Hope.”

This is the anchor’s second child.
Kotb surprised viewers in 2017 when she revealed that she had become a first-time mom, having adopted Haley Joy.
On April 16, Kotb called into the show once again to opened up more about her second child and how eldest daughter Haley Joy has already taken to her new role.
“This morning at breakfast [Haley] was trying to feed [the new baby] her raspberries and I was like, ‘Not yet, babe,”’ Kotb said. “She was literally marching around saying, ‘I’m a big sister.”’
The anchor has received a flood of well wishes from viewers and her famous friends.

Several celebrities have also left congratulatory comments on Kotb’s Instagram announcement.
“Congratulations Hoda!!! Hoda/Haley Joy/and Hope!!! Sounds so right,” Susan Lucci wrote alongside a heart emoji.
Selma Blair also chimed in, writing, “Happy everything to you!!! You deserve the best chosen family to last lifetimes.”
Guthrie also posted a photo after meeting the baby for the first time:

Kotb responded to the overwhelming amount of messages from fans and friends alike on Twitter.
