Every holiday season I run around like crazy trying to find the perfect gift for each person on my Christmas list. So when my editor challenged me to see if I could do all my Christmas shopping at Lowe’s this year, I thought why not? (I’m there most Saturdays anyway.)
Could my go-to home improvement store really provide a selection of holiday gifts for everyone? I mean, I don’t exactly want to get Aunt Sally a cordless drill.
But, like any good DIY enthusiast, I headed to Lowe’s on a mission.
What I found was a complete surprise—Lowe’s is chock-full of Christmas spirit. Maybe it really is possible to do all of my Christmas shopping in one place. So I went down my list and began checking things off one by one.
For The Kids’ Teachers
Teachers are amazing, so they deserve amazing gifts. My rule is to get them something pretty, plus something they really want: gift cards. Lowe’s sells beautiful poinsettias—check off the pretty. Pair one with a gift card from the impressive gift card wall, and your kids’ teachers are sure to smile. Done.
For My Grandma in Assisted Living
My grandma’s room in her assisted living facility is fairly small, plus she is always cold, so this terrarium ornament and super soft blanket are perfect for her. The only thing more amazing than this impressive list is the total cost. If I buy everything on this list, I’d spend a grand total of $499.73. That’s for every person on my list. Add in the cost of the gift cards and my total is just over $500. Even more exciting is that most of these gifts fall below the $20 price point, so sticking to family limits is no problem.
