Hot Chocolate Lasagna is the decadent dessert you didn’t know you needed

You can never have too much cocoa this time of the year — so it’s time to make room for yet another way to enjoy hot chocolate. This recipe for hot chocolate lasagna is just the thing you need this holiday season for a couple of reasons. One, hot chocolate, obviously. Two, there’s no baking required. Do we really need to say more?

The Oh My Goodness Chocolate Desserts blog has a recipe that will allow you to create layer after layer of hot chocolate goodness. It’s stacked similarly to lasagna and served up in a large baking dish. It’s perfect for a cocoa-loving crowd, thanks to an Oreo crust topped with hot chocolate cheesecake mousse, chocolate pudding and a creamy top layer complete with marshmallows. Wow.

The dessert requires some time in the fridge or freezer to set. But, as previously mentioned, there’s no actual baking involved. So if you’re looking for something sweet that’s also hassle-free, well, say hello to your new go-to holiday recipe:

It’s sure to be delicious, slice after thick, indulgent slice.

If you’re looking for an even more seasonal take on this dessert, you could also try this recipe for chocolate peppermint lasagna from Beyond Frosting. It combines chocolate pudding, Cool Whip, peppermint extract, Andes peppermint chips and more for a treat that’s the perfect mix of minty and chocolatey, and just as decadent:

For a Christmas Day crowd-pleaser, you should consider the following festive red and green dessert, especially if you’re serving a large crowd on Dec. 25. This recipe, for the appropriately titled Christmas Lasagna, comes from Kitchen Fun With My Three Sons and does require some time in the oven since the bottom layer is a cookie. But it’s worth it for the cookie crust, right?

The cookie is topped with a layer of peppermint cheesecake, pudding and a marshmallow topping. And thanks to red and green food coloring, this will certainly be a standout on the dessert table:

Who knew layering desserts could be this fun?

Whether you opt for a classic favorite and go for the hot cocoa-flavored lasagna or get even more seasonal with peppermint flavoring, there’s no wrong way to enjoy desserts stacked on top of desserts!

All food should come in lasagna form, don’t you think?
