House has incredible Christmas light show synced to the song ‘Take on Me’

Magical Light Shows

There’s always one house in the neighborhood that outdoes all the others when it comes to holiday lights displays. In one Tracy, California, community, that house belongs to a light show professional who has produced high-caliber light sequence shows around the world and for clients like Disneyland. He puts on a spectacular, high-tech community lights show that, by the way, might convince you the ’80s pop song “Take on Me” by a-ha is deserving of a spot on your Christmas music playlist.

Tom BetGeorge, the owner of Magical Light Shows, creates an epic Christmas lights production every year, using 70,000 lights to pull off the majestic show at his house. This year’s light performance is synced up with a variety of music, including pop songs “Take on Me” and “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd (get it?) as well as holiday songs such as Sia’s “Candy Cane Lane” and the theme song of “The Polar Express.”

Here’s his Facebook post about this year’s show:

The 35-minute show begins with talking Christmas trees in the windows. From there, you’ll get to see appearances from stars and snowflakes that look as though they’re dancing along to the music. Plus, there are bursts of color that are expertly timed to spiral around a towering tree during climactic moments, like a chorus.

For those who can’t see the show in person, BetGeorge has a YouTube channel where he provides videos of the production. Here’s the segment of the show that’s synced up with “Take on Me.”

BetGeorge told Sacramento station KCRA that it takes him about 300-600 hours to put together the holiday show.

The community lights show runs for 2 1/2 hours on most weekend nights in December, and a donation box out front of the house collects donations for the McHenry House, a local family shelter. This year, toy donations are also being accepted for Brighter Christmas.

To help promote social distancing and bring light (a whole lot of light!) to those in this unprecedented season, BetGeorge has put his entire light show on YouTube this year. Here it is:

The show also includes “Titanium” by David Guetta featuring Sia, “Avengers Remix” by ApproachingNirvana, “Santa Shark” by Super Simple Songs and “Amazing Grace” by The Five Strings featuring Alex Boye.
