How to make crab and brie wontons at home

During this time of social distancing to help stop the spread of the novel coronavirus, restaurants across the country have temporarily shuttered their doors. If you find yourself with a craving for some of your favorite restaurant appetizers, you’re going to want to try out this crab and brie wonton recipe from Mermaids & Mojitos.

It sounds like exactly the type of dish you’d see on the starters menu at your favorite Asian-fusion restaurant, but it’s deceptively easy to prepare.  It’s ready in just 20 minutes from start to finish, and it looks super-impressive too.

Make sure that the lump crab is free of any pieces of shell and rinsed of lemon juice. You can use either spreadable or triple creme brie. The wontons can be made a day ahead of time and stored tightly covered in the refrigerator.

The recipe gives two options for folding these bite-sized snacks — in the shape of a traditional wonton or as a beggar’s purse, which looks like a tiny coin pouch.
