11 Insanely Cozy Hot Tubs You’ll Want To Soak In ASAP

You may be daydreaming about a beach vacation, complete with umbrella drinks, splashing around in the water and building sand castles.

But winter scenery can be just as beautiful and taking even just a weekend trip somewhere new can help liven up these cold and dreary months — especially if there’s a hot tub involved. For inspiration, here are 11 resorts and hotels with insanely cozy hot tubs.

1. Viceroy Snowmass — Snowmass Village, Colorado

Is there anything better than soaking in a hot tub after a long day on the slopes? Actually, yes, there is — soaking with a view. The recently remodeled pool area at Viceroy Snowmass near Aspen, Colorado, has three soaking tubs that all offer incredible views. At night, you can gaze into the velvety black sky (you can see so many stars here!) with the glow of purple lights emanating from the hot tubs in the background. Or, if you’re relaxing during the day, you can watch skiers and snowboarders pass overhead on the Assay Hill lift.

The soaking tubs, which feature infinity edges and a waterfall wall, were designed with jets that focus on your lower back, quads and calves, all areas that tend to get sore after a day of skiing or riding. And since you can literally walk out the door of the Viceroy, grab your gear from the ski valet and head down to the nearly private lift, we’re guessing you’re going to be doing a lot of shredding while you stay here. There’s also an outdoor pool, plenty of lounge chairs and two 60-inch televisions if you want to catch some sun (yep, you’ll find that it’s warm enough to sunbathe on some days, even during the winter months).

2. Vista Verde Ranch — Clark, Colorado

Picture this: You wake up in the morning and step out onto your deck. Against a backdrop of bright blue skies and mountains, you see more than 100 beautiful horses grazing in a pasture. That’s the scene at Vista Verde Ranch in Clark, Colorado, which is about 40 minutes north of Steamboat Springs. Each cabin here has its own private hot tub, which makes Vista Verde perfect for a romantic getaway, a family vacation or something in between.

When you’re not soaking, you can choose from dozens of activities at this all-inclusive resort — horseback riding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, tubing, “snoga” (that’s yoga in the snow!), sleigh rides, fat biking and more. You actually won’t want to leave this place once you feel the warm hospitality, taste the delicious food and beverages and take in the stunning valley views.

3. Rustic Inn Creekside Resort and Spa — Jackson, Wyoming

When you book a stay at the spa suites of Rustic Inn Creekside Resort and Spa in Jackson, Wyoming, not only do you get your own private hot tub, but you also get your own private butler, who doubles as your bartender, concierge and chef at breakfast time each morning.

The resort is just a short shuttle ride away from Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, which has some of the best skiing in the country, especially if you’re into steep terrain. When you’re not skiing or soaking in the hot tub, you’ll want to check out the incredible sauna at Rustic Inn, which is covered in hundreds of beautiful aquamarine mosaic tiles.

4. Sun Valley Lodge — Sun Valley, Idaho

Even the outdoor pools at Sun Valley Lodge in Sun Valley, Idaho, can help you relax — they’re both heated t0 98 degrees. On top of that, you’ll find a luxurious outdoor hot tub for soaking your aching muscles after a day skiing or riding at Sun Valley Resort. You’ll be able to take in views of Bald Mountain and grab a drink from the nearby Poolside Cafe, which has a full-service bar (and bites to eat if you get hungry!). And since the entire lodge was remodeled in June 2015, it’s essentially like visiting a brand new resort.

5. Sundara Inn & Spa — Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin

Talk about peaceful. Sundara Inn & Spa is tucked back in a 26-acre pine forest, which means it’s incredibly quiet. Even better? When it snows, the flakes gather on the pine boughs, which creates an additional layer of sound insulation — you’ll feel completely removed from the noise of traffic and other everyday sounds. To fully enjoy this experience, you’ll want to sit in the resorts oversized hot soak tub or swim a few laps in the heated outdoor infinity pool. If you’re looking for a little more privacy, the resort just finished a 40,000-square-foot expansion that added new suites with private outdoor hot tubs on their balconies.

Chances are also good that you’ll catch a glimpse of an eagle flying overhead or a whitetail deer passing through the woods.

11. The Blake — Taos, New Mexico

You may not picture snow and ice when you think of New Mexico, but when you head up into higher elevations, you’ll find yourself in a winter wonderland. Taos, for instance, is 7,000 feet above sea level and gets tons of snow. You can take advantage of all that powder with a trip to Taos Ski Valley, where you can soak in the outdoor hot tub at The Blake, a gorgeous newly constructed hotel, after a day on the slopes.

If that’s not enough, you can get a massage like the adobe clay wrap or the mountain arnica therapeutic treatment to ease your muscles.
