James Corden Tried Out Mark Wahlberg’s Intense Morning Workout

James Corden is a man of many talents. Alongside his celebrity guests, he can sing and dance with the best of ’em. But when he ventured into new territory — working out for a TV audience — it led to a hilarious sequence of events.

Corden decided to try out actor Mark Wahlberg’s intense workout schedule, and let’s just say it wasn’t easy. He really deserves some major props for giving it a go because Wahlberg’s morning workout is no joke!

For Wahlberg, each morning begins with a 2:30 a.m. wake-up call. He’s in the gym prepared to work out by 4 a.m. That schedule alone takes dedication.

From there, the actor goes into a series of exercises including jump squats, jump roping and so much more.

Find out how Corden handled the pressure in this video from “The Late Late Show with James Corden”:

While Corden may not have found every exercise enjoyable, he did manage to make it fun. For instance, those jump squats made him feel like he was training to join a boy band, so naturally, he began singing “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” to lighten the mood. And Corden would know a thing or two about what it takes to be a Backstreet Boy — considering he’s joined them in concert (no big deal).

Before he left the workout, Corden gave Wahlberg a little something to commemorate his visit: a “4 a.m. Club” t-shirt featuring both Corden and Wahlberg.

And now it’s official: Corden is part of the 4 a.m. club.

If that didn’t serve as enough proof, Wahlberg also documented the moment on Instagram:

But Corden isn’t the only celebrity to join Wahlberg on his 4 a.m. workouts. Stars such as Octavia Spencer have also been inspired to wake up early and start the day the Wahlberg way, as you can see on the actor’s Instagram:

While some may think Wahlberg’s a little crazy for maintaining a workout schedule like this, he explained to Men’s Health in 2017 that when it comes to your career and even your exercise routine, you’ve got to keep working hard to get where you want to be.

“The only way to be the best is to keep working like you got nothing,” he told Men’s Health. “Keep getting after it, and be more and more aggressive, more and more focused every day. I don’t know. I have more drive and desire now than I ever have.”

So, is anyone feeling inspired to start their day with this level of intensity? Set the alarm for 2:30 a.m. — and go!
