You can actually buy a denim speedo bathing suit this summer
Summer is right around the corner, so now’s the time to get your swimwear in order. Whether you’re shopping highly-rated swimsuits from Amazon or getting your hands on the most talked about swim bottoms, the sooner you’re dressed to get in the pool, the better.
If you’re interested in the popular option, there’s some good news and bad news. The good news is, you’ll definitely get noticed when you strut something like this around the pool. The bad news is, the latest viral sensation happens to be the denim Speedo.
Still interested? While this pair of swim bottoms doesn’t come from the Speedo brand, it’s made in the brand’s iconic style — briefs that are just barely pool-appropriate. And though they’re made with regular swimsuit fabric, not denim, they look like your favorite thing to wear in any season: jeans.
These are appropriately being called the “jeado” and can be found on the Shinesty website for $39.99. Unfortunately, if you shop through this website, you won’t get your classic denim-inspired swimsuit until September, because the popular swim bottoms were only available for pre-order at the time of publication.
However, a black acid-wash version is available now, also for $39.99:
This option isn’t just available for men. Ladies, you can shop jeankinis, too.
There’s this two-piece bikini option for $49.99:
You can also shop a one-piece overall-inspired version for $59.99:
Most people don’t seem to be too crazy for this denim-inspired swimwear trend, and they took to Twitter to voice their opinions.
Some, such as Twitter user @radiobenolson, already know they won’t be participating in this trend this summer:
Well here's a beach/pool fashion trend you can be thankful I won't be following this summer… https://t.co/W5xZJSJww2

Meanwhile, Twitter user @wildeauthor thinks the jeado is a “jea-don’t”:

And Twitter user @MonocleMan1 summed up pretty much summed up the confusion surrounding this swimsuit trend by saying, “What a time to be alive.” Indeed!:

The jeado is definitely an acquired taste, but if you rock one of these this summer, more power to you! Because this certainly isn’t a look just anyone could pull off.
And if you’d prefer to rock your jeado at home but don’t have a pool, you may be interested in learning how to turn a stock tank into a swimming pool in your own backyard.
So, anyone planning on purchasing a jeado just in time for pool season?
