Jenna Bush Hager has another baby on the way.
The “Today” correspondent and daughter of former President George W. Bush made the announcement on April 22 on the NBC morning show.
It all started when anchor Savannah Guthrie let on that Bush Hager’s two young daughters, Mila and Poppy, got “a little something extra” in their Easter baskets.
“Was it sugary and sweet?” Guthrie asked.
“It’s pretty sweet … I don’t know if it’s sugary,” Bush Hager replied with a sly smile.
It took a second for anchor Craig Melvin to figure out what Bush Hager was talking about.
“Wait a minute. What are we doing here?” he asked.
When Melvin guessed she was pregnant, Bush Hager confirmed the news. “Yes, I’m pregnant!” she announced. “We’re thrilled. It is a shock, it’s a lot.”
The “Today” show posted a clip of the exciting moment on Twitter:

Turns out her daughters are so excited that they haven’t been able to keep the news a secret. So, Bush Hager figured she might as well tell everyone.
“I’m only telling because Mila and Poppy found out yesterday in their Easter baskets,” she explained. “They told the man behind me on the airplane. They told the people at church.”

Bush Hager shared the sweet moment that her daughters learned the news on “Today with Hoda & Jenna,” the fourth hour of the show, which she co-hosts with Hoda Kotb. On April 22, Meredith Vieira was filling in for Kotb.
Bush Hager also waited until the fourth hour to reveal that she is having a boy, as you can see in this clip from the “Today with Hoda & Jenna” Twitter account:

“We weren’t really trying to get pregnant. We had some fertility issues with Poppy,” Bush Hager, who is five and a half months along, said, also adding, “It’s a little bit of a shock, but it’s such great news.”
The newborn baby will mark the first boy grandchild on both sides of their family.
Jenna Bush, 37, married her husband, Henry Chase Hager, in 2008.
It’s been a week of baby news for the “Today” show family. On April 16, Kotb also revealed on air that she has adopted her second child, Hope Catherine.
Kotb, who is currently on maternity leave, couldn’t stay silent on the matter. She called into the show to celebrate Bush Hager’s big news, as seen in the clip below:

“I feel like this is your year for a million reasons,” Kotb said during the on-air phone call. “This is the year of Jenna Bush Hager.”
Kotb wasn’t the only one to celebrate Bush Hager’s big news. Guthrie also took to Twitter to send her a congratulatory message. “Just when you think your heart couldn’t burst anymore! So happy and excited for my dearest @JennaBushHager and Henry Hager!! #babyboyHager is coming this summer!!!” she wrote.

As Kotb noted, 2019 is shaping up to be a big year for Bush Hager. She recently took over as Kotb’s co-host on the fourth hour after the “Today” show, following the departure of longtime host, Kathie Lee Gifford.
Bush Hager made her official debut on the morning show in early April, as captured in the below clip from the “Today” show YouTube channel:
Now with another baby on the way, Bush Hager will clearly have her hands full.
