Jennifer Garner‘s son is a special little boy, and here’s the proof: he wrote her a check just for being his mom.

Garner shared the unexpected bonus from Sam, who turns 8 next month, on her Instagram page, writing in the caption, “Apparently, birthing and raising someone is valued at $168.42. I guess I should keep my day job.” The Hollywood A-lister joked in the hashtags, “I would be his mama for free,” before adding, “oh wait I already am.”

Garner’s Instagram followers loved Sam’s cute gesture, including a fellow celebrity mom. “Hahahaha,” commented Mindy Kaling.

“Too cute! I’m sure he didn’t consider the overtime,” joked another user, while someone else wrote, “Written on Dec 25th, which means it also qualifies as your holiday bonus. Lol don’t spend it all in one place!”

A few people wondered how Sam came up with a figure of $168.42. We’re guessing you’d have to get inside the brain of a 7-year-old to work that one out.

Garner often shares her kids’ cuteness on Instagram. In December 2019, she posted a #wayyyybackwednesday picture of a note written by one of her daughters when they were younger. It reads, “I know that I am willing to go to school, but I want something. Maybe hot chocolate? Yes or no.”

“You drive a hard bargain, Missy, but Yes. Definitely, yes,” Garner responded in the caption.

And in Feb. 2019, Garner proudly shared artwork by Seraphina, then age 10, with the caption, “Mom, a portrait” by my middle daughter. #jazzercise #tastythighs #middlekidsarestinkers.”

Though Garner and Ben Affleck divorced in 2018 after 16 years together, the couple remains committed to co-parenting their three children (as well as Seraphina and Sam, they have 14-year-old Violet). Not only do the kids come first, but they inspire their work life.

One of Garner’s upcoming projects, the Netflix adaptation of the Amy Krouse Rosenthal book “Yes Day,” is something she can definitely relate to. It’s based on the idea of a special day, once per year, where parents say yes to everything their kids want, without exception.

In 2017, Garner posted a picture of herself looking worn out on Instagram, with the caption, “You’ll never need coffee more than the day after ‘Yes Day!’” and revealed that this was the fifth year of the Garner/Affleck Yes Day tradition.

We reckon she’s more than earned her $168.42!
