Jennifer Lopez shared the sweetest video in honor of her mom’s 74th birthday

It’s been quite a year for singer and actress Jennifer Lopez. The star celebrated her 50th birthday with a glamorous bash, a concert tour and a new single. She won a CFDA award, for which she was recognized as a fashion icon. She went viral during fashion week after wearing a stunning green Versace gown that was a version of a dress she wore nearly 20 years ago. She starred in “Hustlers,” which is in theaters now. And her boyfriend of two years, former New York Yankees star Alex Rodrigeuz, created a romantic proposal for Lopez on a beach in the Bahamas.

But Lopez knows she didn’t get to where she is today without help. One of her biggest supporters? Her mom.

J. Lo’s mom, Guadalupe Rodríguez, celebrated her 74th birthday on Dec. 13. In honor of the woman who’s inspired her since she was a child, Lopez posted a loving tribute to Instagram. In it, she shares a video from a 2012 concert in Australia, during which she called her mom up on stage so they could dance together — also in honor of her mom’s birthday.

“People ask me where I get my energy from, my drive, my dance moves,” writes Lopez on Instagram. “Well now you know…Guadalupe…my mommy.”

Lopez goes on to write about how her mother instilled in her a love for music, singing and dancing.

“For as long back as I can remember, I can see her dancing, laughing and lighting up every room she was in,” writes Lopez. “She is the definition of youthful and timeless at every age. She loved music and movies and history and musicals and believed in true love…and she put all that into me.”
