Jennifer Love Hewitt is pregnant with her third child – which she says came as a surprise to her and her husband, Brian Hallisay.

The couple, who got married in November 2013, are already parents to daughter Autumn, 7, and son Atticus, 5.

The actress made the announcement on social media. “Oh baby!” Hewitt, 42, wrote on Instagram and Facebook alongside a picture of her positive pregnancy test. “We have another one on the way. So excited to finally share this news with all of you.”

The “9-1-1” actress also spoke to People about becoming a family of five.

“We had always been open to a third, but definitely didn’t think in the crazy year that the entire world was having that it would necessarily be this moment,” Hewitt told the publication. “I feel like we’ve been able to so far raise two really special kids who will be great role models. This has been such a pleasant, beautiful, surprising gift in this time to be able to get to do all that again with another little human.”

Hewitt added that Autumn and Atticus are both “so excited” to welcome another sibling.

In fact, Atticus guessed that Jennifer Love Hewitt was pregnant before she knew herself.

“One night, my kids and I were laying in bed watching TV and a Clearblue commercial came on television. My son out of nowhere was like, ‘Hey Mommy, you should order one of those in case there’s a baby in your belly,'” she said. “I was like, ‘How rude! I just ate a big dinner. What is he talking about?’ It stuck with me, and they’ve been asking off and on for a year or so for a sibling. We weren’t closed off to the idea, it just wasn’t something that we were actively thinking about.”

“Sure enough,” says Hewitt, the pregnancy test clearly confirmed that she was expecting after she humored her son and took a test.

“I was like, ‘Wow, this is really interesting that he put it out there in the universe and there it was.’ I had used Clear Blue tests before, and it was just really funny that he saw that commercial and said that out loud.”

Jennifer Love Hewitt recently relived pregnancy and childbirth on the set of “9-1-1” through her character Maddie. She’s been on the show since its second season in 2018.

Here’s a Facebook post she put up right before her first episode debuted:

“With both of my children, I labored for a long time, but I pushed only twice, so I got very lucky to only push a couple of times, so I never pushed for like nine hours straight, so it was a lot, I had a very bad migraine, I broke a lot of blood vessels in my face,” she told ET about the on-set laboring experience.

The “Party of Five” star told People that because her kids are a little older, being pregnant in the show was “a good reminder of being back in that space again.”

And she said her costar Kenneth Choi had an interesting theory, telling her, “See? Playing pregnant got you pregnant!”

When she gives birth to baby No. 3, Hewitt will be thankful to have her husband by her side.

“During labor, he’s like a rock, solid,” she said of Hallisay. “You would never know if he was panicked, or worried or stressed or anything — he’s just really good. The only thing about him and labor that really makes me laugh is that he eats a lot of snacks. Usually in my hospital bag it is like an outfit for me and outfit for the baby, and then snacks for Brian!”

As for the future, Hewitt is pretty sure there won’t be baby No. 4, even though she loves being pregnant.

“I’m pretty sure. I don’t think I could do another one. I think five is a great number,” she said.
