JOANN and GoldieBlox are teaming up to launch a new subscription box

If you’ve got a tween who loves creativity, experimenting and building, you want to check out the new JOANN and GoldieBlox collaboration: a monthly subscription box focused on STEM.

The new boxes are targeted at girls ages 8-12 but are great for any lover of STEM, which stands for science, technology, engineering and math.

“We are taking the most popular, trending DIY ‘hacks’ and projects from GoldieBlox’s YouTube channel, like squishies and bath bombs, and giving them a GoldieBlox twist,” a press release on the new boxes says. “Each monthly STEM kit box will contain all the tools necessary to inspire fun, science-based projects to be created and enjoyed at home, such as fizzy shower balls, EL wire signs, and much more with a description of the STEM behind each project.”

The kits come with links to exclusive online content for subscribers on GoldieBlox’s YouTube channel, where girls can get inspired to do fun new STEM experiments and projects. There are also fact cards that give more info on the project in the box.

Each kit, once assembled, is a fully functional item, like the bath bombs seen in the above video. The company says on its web page that the boxes combine “STEM and style.”

New subscribers can get their first month for $19.99 with free shipping by using the promo code GOLDIESQUAD until Oct. 4, 2019. After the introductory offer, you can choose to pay month-to-month (at $24.99/month) or commit to a three- or six-month subscription ($19.99/month).

You can order the kits now online. Starting Oct. 12, they will be available at JOANN Fabric and Craft Stores as well as on JOANN’s site.
