John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are in the public eye, and that means they’re bound to come under some scrutiny. Part of that, unfortunately, means the couple has to deal with negative comments online. But the parents — they have 2-year-old Luna and another baby on the way — are quick to defend themselves when comments get cruel.

So, when an anonymous commenter on Instagram had something to say about Legend’s parenting skills online, they both responded.

On February 24, Legend posted a photograph of himself carrying Luna in his arms, and someone reportedly left this comment on the Instagram post:

“So tired of seeing them carrying her. She needs no legs then.”

The person is clearly upset by the fact that Teigen and Legend carry their toddler instead of letting her walk. That commenter was not taking into consideration the fact that there were likely lots of paparazzi around to get this photo in the first place, potentially making it a little safer to keep Luna as close and protected as possible.

Teigen happens to be known for her hilariously sarcastic retorts online, so she responded to the negative comment in her classic style, writing:

“Are you so tired of it? Does it make you so sad and upset 🙁 we are so sorry to make you, queen holland meissner [the commenter’s name] of the universe sad and upset,” Teigen wrote. “What can we do for you to make it better, sweet angel.”

Legend, however, took a cool, calm and collected approach. He didn’t actually address the comment until he was asked about it in an interview.

“Yeah, it was hilarious,” he told “Entertainment Tonight.” “People, you know, I think people kind of — they see one photo and they want to make judgments about how people live their life.”

He even had some advice for people to live by (in real life and on social media):

“I think the best advice for all of us is, let parents be parents and don’t criticize based on what you see on social media.”

Solid parenting advice right there! Keep up the good work, you two. We can’t wait to see how the parents handle raising two adorable children when their baby boy arrives!
