Joseph and Kendra Duggar Are Expecting Their First Child

Joseph and Kendra Duggar of “19 Kids and Counting” fame have announced that they are expecting their first child!

The two lovebirds met at church when they were younger, but it wasn’t until this past March that they confirmed that they were dating.

Soon thereafter, in May of 2017, during Joseph’s sister Joy-Anna Duggar’s wedding, Joseph proposed to Kendra.

Kendra joined Joy-Anna’s sisters as a bridesmaid in her wedding—before becoming a bride herself four short months later.

They Got Married In September

“We are so excited to be engaged and look forward to a lifetime together,” Joe and Kendra wrote in the Duggar family’s blog when announcing their engagement.

Joe, 22, and Kendra, 19, got hitched in a small, intimate ceremony at the First Baptist Church in Siloam Springs, Ark., on Sept. 8.

Who married them? None other than Kendra’s proud father, who is a pastor.

Fans of the show got to watch the nuptials take place in October in an episode of the family’s new TLC show, “Counting On,” an offshoot of the original Duggar show “19 and Counting,” which profiled Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar and their children.

This included the couple’s highly anticipated first kiss. (For those that don’t watch, the Duggar family are very conservative Christians and kissing is not allowed until marriage.)

The newly married couple spent their honeymoon in Greece.

Baby News!

On Dec. 18, the couple announced the baby news via video message on the family blog and via TLC.com.

“I’ve always dreamed of having my own family. It’s kind of surreal that it’s actually here. I kind of think it might be a boy… but either way I’m just happy to have a baby,” said Joe in the breaking news video.

“I think it could be a girl,” added Kendra. “You never know!”

Joe went on to say that he hopes that the baby has Kendra’s laugh, while she gushed that she hopes the baby will be patient like Joe.
